The Water Guardian

I need to work on my oceans...

So one of my sketches came out good enough that I decided to finish it. I’ve never drawn this dragon before for dA but this is Lynn, the Water Guardian. I actually found the first picture I ever did of her (from like...high school :/ ) and basically redrew the old picture from a different angle. Since my style’s changed a lot since then it translated differently but if you stare hard enough it all looks the same

I always liked her though because since she’s made of water, I figured there would be currents inside of her that travel throughout her entire body that is visible when she’s moving (when she’s standing still or out of water it just looks like an ocean gradient). But her form is held together by an electrical gradient from her heart (her chest is always dark). And she only has two front legs. No hind legs XD

Pencil and Ink. Colored with Prismacolor and Copic markers, pastel chalk, and white ink.
